The pilot project

Education and Employment are key parts of the Supporting theme in the Discover Dunblane BID business plan. As part of this initiative we have been working with Dunblane High School since 2016 to develop the Education for Life and Work pilot project. There are a number of parts to the programme, with a key element providing an opportunity for 5th year pupils to gain work experience in the Dunblane business community. The BID team worked to identify, organise and facilitate work experience placements for a number of 5thyear Pupils (and some S4 and S6 pupils too) that provided valuable practical and purposeful work placements for 17 young people in 12 Dunblane businesses, although 30 Dunblane businesses responded positively to participation and we hope to work with everyone again in future phases. This programme continued in 2017 and to date over 50 young people have been placed in local Dunblane businesses. The report following the November 2016 pilot programme is available to download here.
